We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our stay at this villa, which felt like a private hotel. Our three nights here were easily the highlight and favorite part of our recent 12-day trip to Sri Lanka.Rohan and his team, notably Mohan, were the stars of this place. They created a warm, welcoming, and amazing environment for our stay. They were respectful of our privacy when we needed it, and a ring of the bell would literally have Mohan running to serve. Our room was cleaned immaculately, and the property was well taken care of and kept clean throughout the day. We absolutely loved having our own private space to have breakfasts in front of the ocean, comfortable loungers to soak up the sun, and easy access to the beautiful and quiet beach with stunning sunsets. We stayed during monsoon season, and had while the waves were a little strong at times, the water was definitely swimable, at least if you are a confident and able ocean swimmer— other sections of this beach are rocky and shallow and not suited to swimming.Regarding food, I was a bit confused about how this worked before booking. Our booking included breakfast and dinner, and there were fixed menus with options. Breakfast had about 10 options total, including some Sri Lankan dishes, while the dinner menu rotated daily with two appetizer options, three main options, and a dessert with a more international focus. Lunch was off of a menu, which was mostly international and reasonably priced. There were also a few “special” options, like a lobster feast and a whole fish. We did those lunches and while pricey, they were delicious— as was most of the food we had onsite so Kudos to Chef Shauther. However, just note this is not like having a private chef on call to cook your meals at “grocery cost”; it is a food service with options priced hotel menu-style.They also have wine and beer available onsite, but I found the options expensive. However, you are welcome to bring your own wine, which we did, and Mohan was very happy to serve it to us throughout the day, no corkage fee.I will note that we did have a hot water issue upon arrival, but it was promptly fixed the next morning with a replacement water pump. Beyond this, there were absolutely no other issues with the water not being hot, as noted in a previous review. In fact, this may have been overcorrected as the water was VERY hot, so you need to be careful.I do think the villa could benefit from better outdoor lighting when eating dinner after dark. The current cool-white light is a little sterile, but it also provides an opportunity to eat by candlelight :)Lastly, I was concerned about the common area issue mentioned in another review. I will say that the staff did their best to keep the inside area clear and, as noted earlier, respected our privacy on the property, leaving it free for us to enjoy. We didn't use the indoors much because it was so hot and there is no A/C outside of the bedrooms, so we spent most of our time in our room or outdoors. That being said, the kitchen is lightly used for meal prep and serving, given that the staff space seemed very small.While we would 100% stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it, I do feel like Taru should make a little investment to better separate the staff and guest spaces to reduce the issue to zero and make the staff area a little bigger and more comfortable for the team.Thank you again for a great stay and hope we get to visit again one day soon!

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful villa everything was wonderful the view by the ocean 🌊 the outdoor lounge 🤩 and a private pool 🏊🏼 .The villa was big , clean and very safe there is security 24 hours . The staff was very friendly, smiley and helpful 🌷they bring everything we needed, they have fast service and they attention to details 👌🏻all staff was amazing and lovely 😊 the manager Rohan , personal assistant Mohan, the chef mango and the security Sanad they deserve more then 10 stars 🌟 also they care about children . The breakfast was delicious 😋😍 they have menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. we recommend this villa to everyone who wants to come to hikkaduwa 😉👏🏻

This is a beautiful villa in a lovely location. Very well appointed rooms, lovely pool. Great enclosed sandy “garden”. But it wasn’t right for us.The rooms are pitch black if you want the air conditioning on as they only have shutters, no windows. The internet service was very low speed and patchy. There are two rooms, separated by the lounge and a corridor. We stayed with our two young children. For us we didn’t feel like we could relax in the lounge / kitchen area because the hotel staff were often in this space - waiting to help. Which is a lovely sentiment, but not what we were expecting. We would have preferred to have felt more like we had the whole place to ourselves, with support available on request.We had lunch and breakfast here. The lunch took a very long time (nearly 2 hours) to arrive which isn’t ideal with two hungry children. In hindsight we wished we had gone out for food.

Had a fabulous time at this fantastic property! Everything was clean and neat and the staff looked after us very well! Great job by Rohan, Mohan and the fabulous chef who went over and above to accommodate our special requests. Lots of extra care and attention given to our kids as well. We look forward to coming here again!
