Saffron House
Saffon House is a spectacular headland property with elevated ocean views, coolyear-round breezes offering stunning ocean views from the terraces. Conveniently located on the Galle side of Weligama – one of Sri Lanka’s best surfing bays, especially suitable for beginners & intermediate surfers – with a very family friendly vibe & fabulous cafes and restaurants. Saffron House is part of the on houses collection of 3 identical houses that can be rented together or separately. Each has 5 bedroom suites & are environment friendly having been carefully designed to respect the topography and landscape of the sloping site by use of a stepped design. The cross-section and orientation of the houses maximize the natural ventilation from sea breezes to cool the living spaces. The private pools cool the sea breeze as it passes over the water in turn cooling the lower terraces of the house. Hot water is heated from solar collectors. Saffron House has views out to sea from all levels. As you enter the polished hall the infinity edge pool is on the right. Ocean views are visible. From this level are stairs down to the yoga studio & outside dining. Up the stairs past the kitchen leads to the sitting room & covered dining space. In front of here again with uninterrupted ocean views is the teak timber deck from which guests can jump into the pool. Two of the five bedrooms are on this level & come with private terraces. The other 3 bedrooms are on the next level & share a terrace. All bedrooms have ceiling fans as well as air-conditioning & all the beds are fitted with mosquito nets. From this level there are stairs leading to the roof terrace with comfortable seating & a small bar area. Right in front of property is the idyllic ‘Jungle Beach’, convenient for snorkelling & intermediate surfing, or just swimming & hanging out on a beautiful sandy beach in the tropics.

Rental conditions
Check-in time: 3:00pm - Check-out time: 10:00am - Depending on availability, early/late check-in/-out may be available at no extra charge - A security deposit may be payable upon arrival at the property - Only the specified number of guests listed in the Booking Contract at the time of booking may reside on the premises - The main guest is responsible for the behavior of all guests and visitors at the property during the rental period - Children must be supervised by an adult at all times - Fireworks are prohibited in the property, its garden and the beach close by (if any) - No events are permitted on the premises without the property owner's prior approval - It is compulsory and a condition of booking that you have arranged for adequate travel and medical insurance before traveling to Sri Lanka
Reservation conditions
A 50% deposit is required within 5 working days after availability confirmation - The remaining 50% balance must be paid 65 days prior to arrival - If the arrival date is within 65 days of the date of the booking request the total rental amount is payable as a deposit - All rates are quoted in US Dollars (USD) - Local currency payments are accepted in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, and SGD - Payments in foreign currencies are subject to currency exchange rate fluctuations and may incur bank and other fees - Additional payment methods (subject to a 3.5% payment processing fee) include VISA, Mastercard, Union Pay, American Express, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and more
Cancellation policy
Any booking modification or cancellation must be sent to [email protected] - Cancellation policy is applied according to property local time - 50% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made more than 65 days before the start of the rental period - 100% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if cancelling within 1 and 64 days of arrival - Bookings may be amended up to 60 days before the arrival date but will incur a USD 150.00 administration fee for each change made - For no-show: 100% of the total rental amount will be forfeited - Christmas and New Year Period: All payments will be forfeited

Wer had a fabulous family stay at The Saffron House and couldn't fault anything. Beautiful rooms, clean and spacious with an incredible living space beside the pool and looking out to sea. The lovely staff are excellent and the food superb. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely staff on site. Value for money is ok but not great since rather on the expensive side. Rooms are nice but dark and in our room where no glass windows or Moskito nets in front of windows, so if you want to have daylight, you have to fully open the windows and animals can get in. Breakfast is good but not extraordinary. Campus itself is very beatiful but better to get a scooter eg to get dinner. Ascend back up is a bit dark

Paradise! I would rate it higher if I could - it is a wonderful place. The rooms are spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated. The property is ideal for relaxing in a very tranquil setting. What makes the place exceptional is however the host family - Chris, Geraldine and their extended family are amazing. They are friendly and welcoming, their food is delicious and they couldn’t do enough for us to ensure we had a good stay. Saffron House was by far the highlight of our 2.5 week trip - and we’d have stayed longer if we could. Highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed.

The Saffron house was a dream stay for our family. An unbelievable setting with a beautiful view over the ocean. Fantastic breakfast and dinner (western and Sri Lankan options) cooked by Chris and family. The rooms are immaculate, spacious and cool. Great showers, comfy beds, lovely hangout zone outside and the pool is the best we experienced in Sri Lanka, for both the vista and temperature. Hiriketiya beach is a 5 min walk away, good surf and low key eateries right on the water (and no sandflies!)Our favourite place we stayed at in Sri Lanka, we loved it and dream of going back.

The Saffron House is one of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed. The rooms are huge, the beds super comfortable, I love that the bathrooms are partially open to the sky. The team looking after us were so lovely, with no attention to detail spared. And completely delicious food. The view is fabulous and the pool lovely. The house sits at the top of the headland between Hiriketiya beach and Dikwella beach (both 5 mins by foot) so is very private and quiet. We will return!
